To celebrate the opening of its new American hub in West Palm beach, Florida, iconic British carmaker AC Cars has dropped the wild AC GT SuperSport, that it is calling a "new once-in-a-lifetime and extremely limited-production model".

AC Cars says the GT SuperSport is an "uncompromising evolution of the legendary roadster concept" which basically means "an AC Cobra with a body kit, a massive wing and WAY too much power". Which is very good indeed.

In case you can't quite make it out; yes, the GT SuperSport does come with a wing...

The GT SuperSport features a specifically tuned V8 powertrain, along with a "raft of aerodynamic enhancements" and is strictly limited to just 25 examples, all built by hand at AC Car's facility in Donington, England.

The sculpted bodywork integrates dramatic aerodynamics, along with a widened track, that enormous rear wing, and "redefined" front grille. As the company says, the iconic sports car’s silhouette may remain, "but the result is shocking in terms of presence and performance."

AC Cars says the GT SuperSport is "uncompromising". We can't disagree with that.

The GT SuperSport is set to begin deliveries in 2027, and AC Cars America will consult with clients to "ensure each car is a unique masterpiece tailored for its owner".

As such, each GT SuperSport will be individually specced, with "up to 1025bhp" (764kW) available from the V8. Which, given the standard Cobra GT weights around 1400kg, should be considered "more than enough".

"It is fitting that we launch our most formidable model with AC Cars America, and the AC GT SuperSport will cement itself as true icon of automotive engineering," said David Conza, CEO of AC Cars.

With additional aero tweaks and up to 764kW on tap, the GT SuperSport certainly means business.

"Despite the comprehensive overhaul in design, there’s no doubting the car’s linage and we’re ready to release the car’s true potential."

According to Jeremy Stein, CEO of AC Cars America, the GT SuperSport will include "unique commemorative features" and will be available in three bold livery options that typify the "traditions of America" - that means it comes in either red, white or blue, by the way.

"It is truly a masterpiece of design and power that needs to be in one’s collection," said Stein.

Were you really expecting the colour palette to be anything other than red, white and blue?

Of course, such things never come cheap, and the GT SuperSport is certainly no exception, with pricing starting from a truly eye-watering US$550,000 (NZ$917,000) before sales and state taxes.

If that doesn't put you off, then AC Cars says consultations and reservations for the GT SuperSport are open now, but with such limited production, existing clients with orders in place will be given priority before "select new clients" are invited to apply.
