BMW likes to put its stamp on the annual Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este classic car show at Lake Como in Italy. This year, it not only unveiled a concept car you can buy, the Speedtop shooting brake, it also surprised everybody with a look at its latest CS model, the M2 "special edition".

Just a look, mind. This was a "design reveal" and the company has nothing more to say until Wednesday (it'll be more like Thursday New Zealand time), when it will release some technical information.
However, being a CS, we'll take a stab and say it'll be a lighter, more powerful and generally more outrageous iteration of the existing M2. It's not the first, or course: BMW M produced a CS version of the previous-gen M2 back in 2020.
The CS name stands for Competition Sport and was first used with the 2017 BMW M4 F82 CS, identifying special models that are defined by "technically innovative components and maximum performance", says the company.

However, BMW M also likes to say the CS models trace their origins back to the 1988 Evolution version of the iconic E30-series M3.
CS models usually have increased engine power, lightweight construction, optimised aerodynamics and sportier suspension/drive components.
