  • BMW M Motorsport has added the M4 GT3 Evo to Fortnite and Rocket League platforms.
  • The virtual car features a Bleach-inspired livery, mirrored by a real display at BMW Welt.
  • The full-size M4 GT3 Evo display runs until January 2026 at BMW Welt.

BMW’s latest GT racer has already had a busy first season on real circuits. Now it’s clocking virtual miles too, landing simultaneously in Fortnite and Rocket League as part of an expanded tie-up between BMW M Motorsport and Epic Games.

Yes, this is a race car with anime drip, and it’s very on purpose.

From pit lane to player lobby

The BMW M4 GT3 Evo, which debuted in competition in 2025, is now available to players in both titles across the Epic Games ecosystem. The move extends BMW’s push into gaming culture, following earlier appearances by models such as the M240i, BMW 1 Series and the first-generation M3 in Rocket League.

This time, BMW is leaning harder into pop culture. The in-game car wears a special livery inspired by Bleach, one of the world’s biggest anime franchises. The design takes cues from the outfit of protagonist Ichigo Kurosaki with bold lines, high contrast and unmistakable attitude.

To close the loop between pixels and reality, BMW has also built a full-size M4 GT3 Evo in the same BLEACH-inspired design. That car is on public display at BMW Welt in Munich until January 11, 2026.

Motorsport meets anime (and sneakers)

The crossover doesn’t stop at the car. BMW’s existing collaboration with Puma also gets folded in, with BMW M Motorsport Hypnotic LS sneakers appearing in the Fortnite shop in another example of how brand, fashion and gaming are increasingly blurring into one space.

BMW frames the project as a way of meeting younger audiences where they already spend time. As Timo Brückner, Project Lead BMW M Automotive Gaming, puts it:

“By integrating the BMW M4 GT3 Evo into Rocket League and Fortnite we are showcasing the fascination of the spearhead of our BMW M Motorsport product line in GT racing to a young audience. These games are social and creative meeting points where the young generation comes together. The multifaceted collaboration between BMW M, Epic Games, ‘Bleach’, and Puma facilitates uniting motorsport and digital pop culture.”

Not BMW’s first virtual lap

BMW has form here. In 2023, the brand launched what it called the world’s first car creator in Fortnite via the Hypnopolis creative island, letting players customise a BMW iX2.

The M4 GT3 Evo project builds on that momentum, but with a sharper motorsport edge and a lot more visual flair.

Power figures and in-game performance details haven’t been disclosed, but that’s almost beside the point. This is less about lap times and more about cultural overlap. Racing, gaming, anime and streetwear now share the same grid, and BMW seems comfortable lining up on pole.
