- New models sit either side of Lyriq in size and price.
- Optiq is a medium SUV, Vistiq a 3-row, 6-seat luxury epxress.
- Massive price cut for last of 2025-model Lyriqs.
Cadillac has confirmed pricing for two new battery electric vehicles (BEVs) for the Kiwi market: Optiq and Vistiq, which sit either side of the Lyriq launched last year.
Optiq is sometimes described as compact-to-medium in American terms, but in a Kiwi context it's more like medium-to-large at just over 4.8m long (over 200mm longer than a Toyota RAV4, for example).
Vistiq is a 6-seater that stretches out to just over 5.2m long, making it 200mm longer than the more luxury oriented Lyriq.
Both models have made their Australasian debut as Cadillac prepares to compete in its first Formula 1 race in Melbourne this weekend, Sunday March 8.
Optiq will start at $90,000 for NZ, and as with the Lyriq it's being introduced in a fairly high-performance specification. The 75kWh battery gives an estimated 425km range, while the dual electric motors make a combined 224kW/480Nm. A Brembo braking system is standard-fit for the Kiwi market.
It's offered in Sport trim only, with 21-inch alloys, Black Crystal grille and gloss-black exterior detailing.
The much larger Vistiq opens at $120,000, with a 91kWh battery and 461km range. Peak outputs form the dual motors are 459kW/880Nm, with 0-100km/h in 4.2 seconds when the car is in Velocity Max mode. Air Ride adaptive suspension, active rear steering and Brembo brakes are standard.
The second row features captain's chairs, while the glass roof extends to a fixed pane over the third row.
Cadillac says sales of the new models will begin at its Experience Centres in Auckland and Sydney "shortly".
In concert with the launch of Optiq and Vistiq, Cadillac has also adjusted the price of the Lyriq yet again. Launched at $124,000-$126,000 last year, it was subject to a GST-themed special that took it below $110k in August.
Now, Cadillac says the MY25 Lyriq will be run out "in Australia and NZ with a compelling $95,000 driveaway retail offer".
