- Audi has added the AirConsole gaming platform into selected models with Android-based MMI infotainment systems.
- Passengers can play games using their smartphones as controllers via an in-car QR code system.
- Available games include UNO, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, and a Pictionary version exclusive to Audi until 2025.
Audi is giving the phrase “fun on four wheels” a whole new meaning.
The brand has integrated the AirConsole gaming platform into selected models, allowing passengers to play interactive games using their smartphones as controllers - no extra gear needed, just a QR scan and go.
From commute to console
In the growing trend of infotainment evolution, Audi’s latest move turns your car into a rolling games lounge. AirConsole runs directly on the MMI touchscreen (and on the MMI passenger display, if equipped), offering a range of casual games from trivia to drawing challenges.
It’s all part of Audi’s bid to make the in-car experience more engaging for passengers, especially during long drives or traffic-heavy trips.
For models with a passenger-side display, the dynamic privacy mode ensures gameplay doesn’t distract the driver while the vehicle’s in motion, so backseat bragging rights are all but guaranteed.
Play with your phone, not on it
No gaming controller? No problem. With AirConsole, your smartphone transforms into the joystick. A quick QR code scan connects devices to the system, opening up games like UNO Car Party!, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, and even an exclusive in-car version of Pictionary as a special tie-in celebrating the game’s 40th anniversary.
The sketch-and-guess title, Pictionary Car Party, is only available to Audi drivers until the end of 2025.
AirConsole’s catalogue is also expanding regularly, with options to suit all age groups and party sizes.
Smarter cars, smarter play
This feature is now available through the Audi Application Store in models running Android-based infotainment systems, including the A5, Q5, A6, A6 e-tron and Q6 e-tron.
A myAudi account and active data connection are required - with monthly data volumes included for streaming use.
While Audi hasn’t disclosed whether the feature will expand to other model lines, the move clearly marks a shift toward cars as multi-sensory, digital spaces.
As infotainment systems become increasingly central to the in-car experience, don’t be surprised if game night soon starts in your driveway.
