Over 94% of Lamborghinis now wear bespoke Ad Personam hues.

Over 94% of Lamborghinis now wear bespoke Ad Personam hues.

  • Lamborghini’s Ad Personam programme offers more than 400 custom paint colours inspired by myth and Italian heritage.
  • Over 94% of new Lamborghinis feature at least one personalised element from the Ad Personam range.
  • Exclusive finishes such as Diamond Coating and Crystal Effect highlight the brand’s craftsmanship.

After recently celebrating 20 years of its in-house Centro Stile design centre, Lamborghini has revealed the full spectrum of its colour story: over 400 shades, each steeped in myth, memory and the brand’s deep roots in Sant’Agata Bolognese.

The collection, shaped through the marque’s Ad Personam customisation programme, turns paint into personal storytelling.

Lamborghini Ad Personam

Launched in 2011, Ad Personam lets owners craft their supercars like haute couture garments. The numbers speak volumes: Lamborghini says more than 94% (!) of its cars now leave the factory wearing at least one Ad Personam touch.

Within that framework, colour has evolved from a mere finish to a cultural artefact. The hues pull inspiration from Greek and Latin myths, astronomical symbols and milestone moments in Lamborghini history, each a micro-biography of passion and provenance.

Myth meets metal

Take Nero Nemesis, named for a goddess of justice and night skies, or Arancio Apodis, tied to the constellation of the Bird of Paradise.

Viola 30th marks the brand’s 30th anniversary, famously debuting on the 1993 Diablo.

A newer classic, Giallo Maggio, honours Lamborghini’s 50th year: a high-impact yellow born for the Aventador 50 Anniversario. It's particularly notable for the diamond-like transparency that makes its bodywork glow in sunlight.

Other hues, like Verde Scandal, even trace their roots to specific owners. In that case, a customer in the late 1960s who matched her car’s paint to her own dress. Lamborghini’s team obliged, of course.

Colour of place, colour of pride

Not all stories orbit the stars. Some stay grounded in Emilia-Romagna’s soil. Shades such as Giallo Quercus and Terra Emilia pay tribute to the brand’s homeland, referencing Bologna’s coat of arms and its resilient terrain.

Others dive into craftsmanship itself: the Diamond Coating technique embeds real diamond dust into the clear layer, while Crystal Effect creates a dynamic shimmer that shifts with the light.

In total, Lamborghini’s palette is less about fashion than about feeling - a living archive of stories that turn every panel and pigment into a nod to heritage. As the brand puts it, these are not just cars, but “emotions sculpted in colour.”
