  • The Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition is limited to 300 units, sold exclusively in India.
  • Powered by a 210kW rear motor and 79kWh battery, it delivers 550km WLTP range.
  • Features include satin black paint, gold bat emblems, illuminated roof badge and themed interior detailing.

If you ever thought Mahindra’s BE 6 looked a bit like a stealthy Batmobile-in-waiting, you weren’t wrong.

The Indian brand has leaned into the comparison, rolling out the BE 6 Batman Edition, a limited-run electric SUV dripping in Dark Knight drama.

Bat-Signal, but make It road legal

Developed with Warner Bros Discovery, the Batman Edition is being touted as “the world’s first commercially available Batman-inspired SUV.”

Just 300 examples will be built, all for the Indian market, each priced from ₹27.79 lakh (about $54,300). Deliveries begin on September 20, conveniently timed with International Batman Day.

Visually, the SUV is finished in a moody Satin Black with gloss highlights. Golden bat logos appear on the fenders, brake calipers, springs and 20-inch wheels, while decals and stickers add even more Gotham flair. Open the doors and puddle lamps project the bat emblem onto the ground, while the panoramic Infinity Roof carries an illuminated Dark Knight Trilogy insignia.

Inside, black suede and leather upholstery are paired with gold trim, with bat silhouettes etched into seats, labels, door straps, and even the digital cockpit’s welcome screen.

The Dark Knight rides electric

The Batman Edition is based on the range-topping BE 6 variant, producing 210kW and 380Nm from a single rear-mounted motor. Its 79kWh battery is good for 550km on the WLTP cycle, giving Bruce Wayne’s budget-conscious alter ego plenty of range between crime-fighting stints.

Mahindra even programmed a “Batman-inspired” exterior sound profile, because if you’re going to drive something covered in bat symbols, it may as well sound the part.

A collectable for superfans

Each car features a numbered “Brushed Alchemy Gold Batman Edition” plaque, reminding owners they’ve secured one of just 300. Pratap Bose, Mahindra’s Chief Design and Creative Officer, summed up the project: “With the Batman Edition, we wanted to go further - to create something so personal, so visually arresting, that owning it feels like owning a piece of cinematic history.”

Priced at only a bit more than the standard BE 6, the Batman Edition isn’t priced like a billionaire’s toy, but it’s certainly aimed at the most devoted Gotham faithful.

Whether it ends up parked in a cave or a suburban garage, this is one Mahindra SUV that definitely wears its fandom on its sleeve - sorry, cape.
