Porsche unveils new 911 Turbo S with 523kW hybrid power.

  • The new Porsche 911 Turbo S delivers 523kW and 800Nm through a twin-turbo T-Hybrid system.
  • Acceleration improves to 0 to 100km/h in 2.5 seconds, with a top speed of 322km/h.
  • A Nurburgring lap of 7:03.92 makes it 14 seconds faster than its predecessor.

Porsche has unveiled the most powerful 911 yet at the IAA Mobility show in Munich: the new 911 Turbo S, now sporting an advanced T-Hybrid twin-turbo powertrain that delivers 523kW and 800Nm.

Available as both coupe and cabriolet, it promises sharper performance, improved agility and even more exclusivity.

Electric boost, petrol punch

The 3.6-litre boxer engine works with a pair of electrically assisted turbos and an integrated motor within the eight-speed PDK.

Together, the setup not only adds 45kW over its predecessor but also trims the sprint time: 0 to 100 km/h is now just 2.5 seconds, with 200km/h coming up in 8.4. Top speed is rated at a heady 322km/h.

Despite hybrid hardware, Porsche kept weight gain to just 85 kg, offsetting it with chassis wizardry and wider rubber. The result was a Nurburgring lap of 7:03.92 - a massive 14 seconds faster than the last Turbo S.

Porsche ambassador Jorg Bergmeister summed it up: “You don’t feel the weight gain. On the contrary - the car is much more agile, has more grip and is significantly faster.”

Brakes, wings and whistles

Stopping power comes from Porsche’s largest-ever PCCB system on a two-door, with discs up to 420mm. Active aero adds to the drama: cooling flaps, an adjustable diffuser and that signature deployable rear wing now work as one to cut drag by 10% while boosting stability in the wet. A standard titanium sports exhaust drops nearly 7kg and tunes the boxer soundtrack into something throatier.

Inside and out, Porsche has leaned into its “Turbonite” design strategy. The exclusive trim colour appears on crests, lettering, stitching and even wheel options. Buyers can dive deeper with Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur’s menu, from carbon roofs and lightweight wiper arms to personalised embossing.

Standard kit is generous: HD Matrix LED headlights, adaptive 18-way sports seats, the Sport Chrono package and electro-hydraulic roll control all feature.

The coupe defaults to a two-seater (rear seats no-cost), while the cabriolet comes as a 2+2. Porsche also launched a matching Turbo S chronograph, complete with Turbonite detailing and Porsche Design’s flyback calibre.

The 911 Turbo S remains the yardstick of Porsche’s line-up - only now, it’s faster, cleverer and more exclusive than ever.
