- Popular game Asphalt Legends is getting a new update that adds JDM cars and drifting to its gameplay.
- The update, titled 'Touge Masters' brings the new drifting mechanic as well as a new Japanese track.
- New cars include the Nissan Skyline, Mazda RX7 and Toyota Supra.
JDM and drift fans rejoice: Gameloft has announced a new seasonal update for its racing title, Asphalt Legends, titled "Touge Masters," which is scheduled for release at the end of this month as part of Update 52. This seasonal content focuses on Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) automotive culture and introduces "several mechanical and aesthetic additions to the game".
The central feature of the update is the introduction of a dedicated Drift Mode that shifts the focus from Asphalt's traditional racing to precision and style with a high-score competition format. The new mode will be highlighted during the "JDM Turbofest" spotlight event, which runs from July 21st to August 18th. During this event, players can participate in "Drift Gates" challenges to earn event-specific currency and items.
The vehicle roster will also be expanded with three iconic Japanese performance cars: the Nissan Skyline GT-R R34, the Toyota Supra RZ Mark IV, and the Mazda RX-7 Spirit R. These models will be available with specific JDM-inspired liveries and, of course, cambered wheels.
In addition to the vehicles, a new racing environment based on Mount Fuji will also be added to the game. Set in a rural Japanese landscape characterised by snowy environments and the mountain’s silhouette (you know, just like Forza Horizon 6...) the track adds a new destination to the existing Japanese locations in the game, such as Osaka.
The update also includes a thematic Eurobeat soundtrack featuring contributions from various genre artists, including "Sakura Shockwave" by Turbo, a remix of "Overdrive" by Odyssey Eurobeat, and "My car is in danger" by Vtuber IRyS.
The new expansion is available now on the Apple App Store, Google Play, Microsoft Store, Steam, Xbox, Epic Games Store, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2 and for the first time on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
