Bentley has detailed how its upcoming Torcal EV will manage its vehicle and cabin settings as one coordinated environment.
Its new Curation Engine is designed to bring several parts of the car together at once, shaping the experience around how its occupants want to feel.
One system, multiple senses
The system brings together the suspension and powertrain with cabin lighting, sound and climate settings. It also manages air quality and the digital information presented inside the vehicle, rather than treating each function as a separate adjustment.
Bentley says sensory neuroscience informed the way these inputs work together. The focus is therefore broader than any single vehicle or cabin adjustment, with multiple inputs used to shape the overall experience.
Four environments to choose from
The Curation Engine offers four selectable environments named Bentley, Comfort, Sport and Refresh. Bentley has not detailed every individual setting used by each one in this release, but all four draw on the same coordinated group of vehicle and cabin systems.
Refresh is the most clearly explained — and the only one exclusive to Torcal. It is intended to help combat fatigue by bringing more fresh air into the cabin and brightening the interior lighting. That combination shows how Bentley plans to use several sensory inputs for one specific purpose.
The Torcal will also support what Bentley calls a “digital detox” approach. When information is not needed, the system can reduce what is shown, helping make the cabin less visually demanding.
Key Torcal details remain undisclosed
The Curation Engine provides a substantial preview of Bentley’s thinking for Torcal, but major specifications are still under wraps. The company has not disclosed power, battery capacity or performance figures in this release.
Pricing and New Zealand launch details have not been announced either. For now, the focus is firmly on how Torcal will manage the experience inside the car rather than the numbers beneath it.
