Manual meets monster power.

Manual meets monster power.

  • Hennessey will debut the Venom F5-M at Goodwood with a gated six-speed manual gearbox.
  • The roadster combines a 6.6-litre twin-turbo V8 with claimed 1515kW peak output.
  • Only 12 examples are planned, with pricing starting from US$2.65 million before options.

Hennessey has found a delightfully unhinged answer to the question nobody sensible was asking: what if a 1515kW hypercar also had a manual gearbox?

A manual for huge power

Hennessey Venom F5-M

The Texas-based maker says the Venom F5-M will make its global debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on 9 July, where racing driver Alex Brundle is due to drive it up the hill. Hennessey describes the new model as the world's most powerful manual hypercar, built around a gated six-speed gearbox and the company's 6.6-litre twin-turbocharged Fury V8.

Output is listed at 2031bhp, or about 1515kW.

Hennessey says the car also benefits from its wider Venom F5 Evolution upgrades, including new aerodynamics, active suspension, a new chassis package and a bespoke interior.

The open-top layout is part of the pitch too, with Hennessey framing the F5-M as a more direct, driver-focused take on its already extreme roadster.

The F5-M also gets a distinctive dorsal fin, a detail that gives the car a more dramatic silhouette while tying it visually to the high-speed F5 family. Hennessey says the first chassis uses bespoke features through its Maverick division, which is the arm responsible for more individual customer commissions.

Tiny numbers, big theatre

Production will be very limited. Hennessey says only 12 F5-M Roadsters will be built, each priced from US$2.65 million before options. T

hat places it in the same rarefied space as other ultra-low-volume hypercars, but the manual gearbox gives this one a different kind of headline.

The brand has not disclosed full acceleration or top-speed figures for the F5-M, so those remain under wraps for now.

Still, the combination of manual gearbox, open body and four-figure-kilowatt output puts it in a very small corner of the hypercar world: one where analogue theatre has somehow become the headline act again.
