Six new frames mix car cues.

  • Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes-AMG have launched six ic! berlin eyewear models.
  • The collection includes optical frames and sunglasses with screwless hinges.
  • AMG models use Flexarbon carbon fibre and performance-inspired design details.

Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes-AMG have teamed with eyewear specialist ic! berlin for a new six-piece collection, because apparently the car-to-lifestyle pipeline now includes your face.

The range includes three Mercedes-Benz models and three Mercedes-AMG models, split across optical frames and sunglasses.

All use ic! berlin’s patented screwless hinge, with materials including stainless steel, acetate and carbon fibre. The collection is available exclusively at the ic! berlin flagship store in Berlin and through authorised ic! berlin opticians.

Mercedes-Benz goes elegant

The Mercedes-Benz side of the collection leans into softer lines and retro-futuristic details. There are three models: MB 25, MB 26 and MB 27.

The MB 25 is a men’s optical frame with a square shape, textured bridge and engraved front and temple detailing inspired by Mercedes-Benz vehicle lines. It is available in Gun Metal, Graphite and Electric Light Blue.

The MB 26 is a unisex optical frame with a monobrow-style top bar and hexagonal lens shape, offered in Black, Pearl and Rose Gold.

The MB 27 is the sunglass model, mixing a curved acetate front with geometric metal temples.

Its headline colour is Sea Pine, a semi-transparent green with blue undertones inspired by Mercedes-Benz’s Verde Silver exterior paint.

As with last year’s Mercedes-Benz sunglass model, the MB 27 uses photochromic lenses that adjust to changing light conditions.

AMG gets the sharper end

The AMG trio takes a bolder approach, with more angular forms and performance-led detailing.

Mercedes-AMG’s models are AMG 20, AMG 21 and AMG 22.

The AMG 20 optical frame uses Flexarbon carbon fibre, with the brand’s five-stripe detail lacquered onto the front for the first time. The AMG 21 sunglass model also uses Flexarbon, adding painted details on the temples and carbon front.

The AMG 22 sunglasses are the loudest of the group, with a side lens detail and stronger colour contrasts. Available combinations include Gun Metal/Venice Green, Pearl/Orange and Graphite/Yellow.

Car cues, lighter package

Mercedes-Benz eyewear

The collection is clearly built around subtle brand transfer rather than giant badges. Mercedes-Benz gets flowing lines, engraved detail and soft colour work; AMG gets carbon fibre, stronger contrast and sharper shapes.

Mercedes-Benz has not disclosed pricing for the collection yet. Still, for buyers who want their eyewear to nod at the driveway without shouting across the café, this is about as on-brand as a luxury car accessory gets.
