Download, adapt and print accessories

  • Skoda supplies free downloadable designs that owners can adapt and turn into accessories using a 3D printer.
  • The Printly Clever range includes cable organisers, cupholders and storage accessories for current and discontinued models.
  • User feedback helps shape new designs, with a hook for top-tether points currently the most popular accessory.

Skoda is giving owners another way to tidy their cars: download a design file and print the accessory themselves.

Its Printly Clever range puts small cabin organisers and holders on the Printables platform, with files available free of charge through Skoda's account. Owners can use the designs as supplied or adapt them before printing, giving them some say over how the finished accessory works in their car.

The free part is the digital design. Producing a physical accessory still requires access to a 3D printer and printing material.

Small fixes for cabin clutter

The range tackles familiar storage problems, with cupholders, coin boxes and cable-management accessories among the options. There are phone brackets, along with hooks for USB cables and caps that attach to seat-back pockets.

A hook that fits a top-tether point is currently the most popular design, according to Skoda. It is one of the small storage additions in a collection developed with feedback from users, who can help steer which accessories appear next.

The catalogue covers current and discontinued Skodas, so the project also includes owners whose cars have already left the showroom line-up. Designs are intended for particular applications, making the model and mounting location worth checking before sending a file to the printer.

Console trays and an extra cupholder

Among the model-specific additions are accessories for the Epiq and Peaq. Their centre consoles can accommodate printed cupholder covers, inserts and organisers, while trays divide the Jumbo Box storage compartment.

Peaq passengers also get a more specific option: a clip-on cupholder for the folding table. Designs accommodate standard and larger cups, adding somewhere to put a drink while the table is in use.
