Did you buy this car new or used?

New

How much did you pay? (including all on-road costs)

$86,000

What were your needs when you bought this car? Has it fulfilled those needs?

Pull a 2.8 Tonne 30ft caravan with approximately 200kg in the back of the car. Previously I had purchased a 2016 Grand Cherokee of the same variant, purchased to tow a 3.5 Tonne fertiliser trailer and farm equipment.
I test drove all top brand models at the time, Everest, Nissan, Toyota.

The Jeep stood above all of them for, power, smooth transmission, quietness, comfort, and towing capacity.
I was very impressed with it for comfort, efficiency, and power. Most of my driving was on open Rd, 120,000km averaged 7.4 km/100.

I heard The 2022 model was the last diesel to be produced, we were in the caravan in the South Island at the time, purchased from Main dealership in Auckland in December, but didn’t pick it up until March when we returned to Whitianga.

As a foot note; we travelled for 12 months in the South Island, while our house was being built in Whitianga. The Jeep travelled over 40,000km pulling the caravan over all the Passes. I never met a hill I could not accelerate up.

What were your initial thoughts about the car? Tell us why it appealed to you.

I was so impressed with my previous 2016 model that I wanted the new last production of the same model.
Very quiet, limited diesel noise, efficient, powerful. Fabulous ride.

What have you discovered since owning the car?

Still very impressed. Most driving now is around the Coromandel, but also long trips to Auckland and Taupo.
Still very efficient considering all the hills it drives on. 9.4 Km/100

What do you like/dislike about the car?

The auto break and reversing sensors, the ease of switching off the proximity sensor on the rear when towing and reversing.

Any other comments on the car?

My Daughter In-law, was so impressed with the 2016 Grand Cherokee that she wanted to purchase it.She has driven it from 120,000km to 190,000km and wants to buy another sometime.

Lastly, would you buy this vehicle again?

Yes

Why would/wouldn't you buy it again?

As described above.
GM made a big mistake dropping the diesel engines.
I see almost all European manufacturers have returned to producing the IC engines.
