Honda New Zealand is asking for expressions of interest for its upcoming compact EV, the Super-One. Prospective customers can now register through the Honda New Zealand website to receive updates on the vehicle's technical specifications, pricing, and availability as the launch date approaches.
The Super-One is a compact EV designed with a lightweight platform, a low centre of gravity, and a wide stance. Honda says these design elements are intended to provide stability during urban driving. The interior features a horizontal dashboard layout and sporty seating.
At 3589mm long, 1573mm wide and 1616mm tall, the Super-One is small, but not quite kei car small (that's the standard N-One's job), being designed specifically for export markets, and while Honda hasn't shared any powertrain details to date, it would seem likely to share the 30kWh battery, 270km range (WLTP) and 47kW output of the Japanese-market N-One e.
However, the Super-One does have an extra trick up its sleeve in the form of its Boost Mode which uses active sound control and a simulated gear-shift experience to modify the sensation of acceleration and the overall driving feel. And, according to rumour, temporarily boost output to 70kW.
While the Super-One's arrival in New Zealand is confirmed, final local pricing and full specifications have not yet been released. Honda indicates these details will be made available closer to the official market launch.
