- A counterpart to LeBron James’s personal Mercedes-Maybach S680 will be auctioned for his family foundation.
- Bespoke saloon combines ivory paint, blue Nappa leather and personalised details referencing James’s Akron roots.
- Car joins Gooding Christie’s Retromobile New York auction event, running from 19–22 November 2026.
LeBron James is keeping his Mercedes-Maybach. But a second car, built as a nearly identical counterpart to his personalised S680, is heading to auction to support students and families in his home city.
The bespoke saloon will feature in Gooding Christie’s Retromobile New York auction event at the Javits Center from 19–22 November 2026. Proceeds will benefit the LeBron James Family Foundation and its 'I Promise' work in Akron, Ohio.
That distinction matters for bidders: this is a companion to James’s own car, rather than his personal used Maybach being offered for sale.
Ivory outside, blue within
James worked with Mercedes-Maybach’s specialists through its Made To Measure programme to create the specification. MANUFAKTUR Ivory paint provides a restrained exterior, while Stormy Weather blue Nappa leather fills the cabin, accented by porcelain-coloured contrast stitching.

The personal touches go beyond choosing colours. Personalised cushions, floor mats and headrests bring his identity into the areas occupants see and use.

Outside, his personal logo takes the place of the traditional V12 emblem on the front fenders. Mercedes-Maybach describes it as the first time a personal logo has been used in this position. A discreet emblem carrying Akron’s geographical coordinates adds another reference to his roots.
A hometown purpose
The foundation’s 'I Promise' work supports Akron students and their families through education and wider assistance spanning housing, health and employment skills. The auction ties the car’s highly individual specification to that broader community programme.
Potential bidders will have opportunities to see the car before the auction event. It is scheduled for display at Mercedes-Benz Manhattan from 9–16 November, followed by the Javits Center on 19–20 November.
