- Moza Racing makes a move into the PlayStation market with the reveal it is an official partner for the Gran Turismo World Series.
- The company also revealed a new full-motion haptic feedback racing rig, as well as a new R16 wheel base.
- At the entry end Moza has also updated its popular R5 wheel bundle with more torque and better pedals.
Moza Racing has been named an official partner of the Gran Turismo World Series, the international championship for the Gran Turismo video game franchise. The partnership is scheduled to begin on August 15, 2026, coinciding with the premiere of Round 2 of the 2026 series, where the Moza brand will be integrated into the official broadcasts.
As part of this collaboration, Moza Racing also confirmed it is currently developing its first officially licensed PlayStation racing products, which are intended for use with the PlayStation 5 subject to final approval from Sony Interactive Entertainment.
“My first experience with Mozawas actually through their camera stabilisation gimbals," said Kazunori Yamauchi, legendary producer of the Gran Turismo games.
"Gimbals and steering controllers both use the same type of technology in that they exercise very precise control over electric motors, so I had my eyes on Moza's developmental ability, technology, and reliability for a while now.
"The evolution of consumer-level force feedback steering that started from Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec is still ongoing, but with Moza now joining us as a partner I’m excited to see the expanded possibilities to develop a steering wheel that is optimal in the eyes of Gran Turismo."
In tandem with the partnership news, the Moza Racing also introduced a range of new hardware, marking an expansion into full motion rigs, farming, and flight simulation.
The headliner of the new gear is undoubtedly the Moza HMA150 Haptic Motion System, a four-actuator motion rig that system provides 150mm of travel, speeds up to 300mm/s, and acceleration exceeding 1G under supported loads, allowing the cockpit to reproduce physical effects such as pitch, roll, and heave.
The company says the HMA150 combines "large platform movements with detailed high-frequency feedback" and uses in-house developed servo motors, control algorithms, structural engineering and software.
The system is managed through new software called AI Motion, which can analyse in-game visuals and audio in real-time to generate haptic effects even when native game telemetry is unavailable.
In tandem with the HMA150 motion rig, Moza also introduced two new wheel bases to its ecosystem: the R16 Ultra Direct Drive Wheel Base and an updated R5 Pro bundle.
The R16 base delivers 16Nm of torque and uses a flat-wire motor architecture and a 21-bit magnetic encoder for capturing steering input. Powered by a 600MHz processor and Moza’s NexGen FFB Algorithm 4.0, the R16 Ultra processes vehicle data with low latency and reproduces finer force feedback detail.
A new force feedback interpolation algorithm has also been introduced that Moza says "intelligently smooths transitions between adjacent signals, eliminating graininess, jolts, and stepped sensations in the feedback".
This allows high-frequency details, such as road textures and curb vibrations, to be delivered to the driver smoothly, continuously, and accurately. The R16 Ultra is compatible with existing Moza steering wheels, pedals and racing accessories, providing an upgrade option for users already within the Moza Racing ecosystem.
The updated R5 bundle (bigger brother to the R3 we tested recently) on the other hand is a new all-in-one entry-level package that now features a 6Nm direct drive wheel base, SRP Lite2 pedals, an ES Lite steering wheel and a desk clamp for a plug-and-play racing set up straight out of the box.
Alongside the new racing hardware, Moza also revealed its AI Coach software, which can actively control compatible hardware during practice sessions to demonstrate steering and braking techniques physically to the user.
The company also expanded its reach into more specialised simulation categories with the Moza Farming Control System for farming and heavy machinery sims, as well as the AY90 Force Feedback Yoke Base and MFY Pro Yoke Handle for flight sims.
The Farming Control System includes a Hall-effect joystick, a throttle, and a control panel with 46 programmable inputs designed for titles such as Farming Simulator 25 and Construction Simulator, while the AY90 base offers 4.2Nm of roll torque and 90N of push-pull force and can be paired with the MFY Pro yoke that features an integrated 4.3-inch touchscreen to display aircraft information and cockpit pages directly on the yoke.
While the company hasn't revealed New Zealand pricing for the new additions, it has announced Australian and UK pricing, which generally lines up when converted:
