- Volkswagen ID.3 Neo replaces ID.3 with new design, interior and tech.
- Offers up to 630km range with outputs from 125kW to 170kW.
- Adds features like one-pedal driving and vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability.
Volkswagen has given its electric hatch a full rethink, starting with the name.
The ID.3 Neo replaces the outgoing ID.3 with a cleaner design, upgraded cabin and a more efficient electric drivetrain, reworking the brand’s compact EV posture.
While the concept remains familiar, Volkswagen says this new generation has been developed under a “True Volkswagen” philosophy, with a stronger focus on usability, quality and long-term appeal.
A fresh face for the ID family

Visually, the Neo introduces a redesigned front end aligned with Volkswagen’s latest “Pure Positive” design language. A continuous light strip and illuminated logo headline the changes, giving the hatch a more modern and cohesive look.
Subtle tweaks to the body proportions, such as colour-matched roof and rear sections, help the car appear longer and lower, adding a slightly sportier stance without altering its core shape.
Interior steps up

Inside is where the biggest shift happens.
Volkswagen has reworked the cabin with higher-quality materials and a more intuitive layout, aiming to bring the ID.3 Neo closer to the feel of models from a class above.

A new infotainment system sits at the centre, featuring a 10.25-inch digital cockpit and a larger 12.9-inch central touchscreen.
Crucially, physical controls are present in this EV, refining on VW's new direction of clearer button layouts and improved ergonomics.
More range, more flexibility

Under the skin, the ID.3 Neo gets a new-generation electric drive system designed for improved efficiency and higher output.
Buyers can choose from three power levels: 125kW, 140kW and 170kW, paired with battery options ranging from 50kWh to 79kWh.
In its most efficient configuration, the Neo delivers up to 630km of WLTP range, placing it among the stronger performers in the compact EV segment.
Charging performance has also improved, with the largest battery supporting up to 183kW DC fast charging.
Tech that works for daily driving

The new model introduces a suite of updated software features, including enhanced driver assistance and one-pedal driving capability. A vehicle-to-load (V2L) function allows the car to power external devices at up to 3.6kW, adding practical flexibility for everyday use.
Volkswagen also adds Connected Travel Assist with traffic light recognition, further pushing the Neo towards a more intelligent, semi-automated driving experience.
Pre-orders open immediately in Europe, with the ID.3 Neo positioned as a more mature and refined take on Volkswagen’s original electric hatchback formula. There's no word yet on local market rollout, however.
